This is really a defense mechanism that is no longer needed or useful and really causes the above problems and many more.  Feelings drive your behaviors, not the other way around. Feelings are stronger than thoughts. Have you ever noticed that you can know what you want, you can know what to do, you can know how to do it, but if you don’t feel it, it won’t get done?  Feelings will always win over thoughts. Resistance keeps you in a repetitive pattern that causes your life to seem dull, lifeless, boring and rigid. It wears you out as you try to overcome that which is literally blocking your happiness.
